Much of what our mission is devoted to is creating the opportunities for meaningful relationships to develop. When troubled teens find their lives in a precarious position through risky behaviors and bad choices, it’s been our experience that the value of developing healthy relationships with adults and peers is essential. The restoration of the life that is in disarray depends on establishing trust where it has not existed.

The sad news of young adults and teens having their lives cut short impacts our community regularly. Sometimes the news relates to a student we have worked with. Other times it’s old friends back home of the students we currently work with. The threat is real. As we work to address the issues that can impact the lives of young adults and teens and can lead to self destructive behaviors, we draw strength and confidence in the mission that is our charge: committed to the needs of at-risk youth who would benefit from a therapeutic environment to achieve educational goals.

The help that our community has extended to the Foundation over the last eight weeks has been truly incredible. Gifts of all sizes have been streaming into help meet the needs of families that are struggling to pay for the services their children need to continue on their journey.

In so many surprising ways we continue to learn how acceptance and trust lead to solutions beyond our expectations.

As we approach the end of another financially difficult year, we continue to be heartened by the generosity of friends supporting us in our mission to serve at-risk teens and their families. We have been particularly hard hit by this recession and know full well the kind of sacrifice your giving represents.

As The Family Foundation School’s approach to helping troubled teens evolves, we are seeing new students settling in and engaging sooner, and our graduates experiencing fewer setbacks when they leave – more proof that the program is indeed life-changing.

Of course, creating this opportunity for teens who are both at-risk and in need requires resources. We hope you will continue your generous support of The Family Foundation as you plan your year end giving.
